I think this product is a great idea. I like the idea that I could buy more later and keep building the castle for my cats. I was even happy to pay the very high price this company charges, but I expected more. For the record, my collection is probably worth around $300, which could get me some really nice cat towers. But I really liked the product! Modern design, color matching. I was hooked. So I got a bunch by Christmas, and as a result I had to put together a bunch. Here are my findings: No two colors are the same. Some colors had deformed parts. The blue matched like butter, everything else was disappointing, and some colors even felt like cheaper plastic. The Gym model is by far the worst. There's nothing to attach it to the box other than a couple of protrusions at the top and bottom. I'd be surprised if the cat scratching it didn't pull it out at some point. My biggest complaint about this product has to be the misleading advertising. I first encountered them in a Christmas tree shop and the box looked like you could turn the boxes so some of them could stand sideways - they aren't. Another thing is that their "solid” models are indicated on the packaging. They appear to have holes at the top to allow the cats to easily maneuver between levels. The ones we all buy don't have that option, so in my case it's hard for cats to get into the second and third rows. Another frustrating thing is that even at level two they get very wobbly, since mine is level three it's significantly worse. It seems like an anchor to the wall would help, but I'd rather be able to rotate the boxes to add more vertical support. I guess my butt could have been 2 deep instead of a whole stack of 1, but when these things cost $40+ each, that's a ridiculous expectation. In closing I would like to say that I love this idea but with all the design issues I think if I could do it again I would spend my money elsewhere. Maybe one day they'll be able to fix these issues with some other models or mods and I'll catch a few more but for now my advice is stay away. At least cats prefer carpet.
