Building instructions leave a lot to be desired! I also noticed when I screwed in the last 2 screws that the hole in the top of the house was in the wrong place (the cloth wasn't placed correctly). I had to change the opening direction of the house to align the last 2 screws with the top bed. Oh, and let's not forget that you start with a screw coming straight out of the bottom of the cat house, which I later removed to use for the top bunk later! I did, but then I needed a drink.
