Review on Philips Sonicare ProtectiveClean Rechargeable Toothbrush by Dhoal Olson

Just like DiamondClean with a cool new feature

This is my third Sonicare since switching from Oral B and never again. I had a DiamondClean that was amazing until it failed after about 5 years. I then bought a Series 2 to replace because they were selling the 2 for $99 at the time and my wife also needed a new one. Although the specs appear to be the same, DiamondClean is much more durable. I recently left my Series 2 at a hotel and had to find a replacement. I wouldn't buy the Series 2 again as the performance isn't great. If you're looking for a DiamondClean it's about 3-4 times the price of the Series 2 so it's hard to justify. I found this new model and took a chance. It's similar if not the same as DiamondClean and it's amazing. There are a few modes that few people will use, but the new pressure sensor feedback is great. It's easy to put too much pressure on the brush, and this feature will show you how to fix the problem. This version comes with a lower quality case and less fancy charger than the DiamondClean, but is otherwise the same but costs 50% of the price. My wife will probably replace her Series 2 based on this option. It really is great value without sacrificing performance.

Pros
  • Protect your teeth with a pressure sensor that pulses you gently to warn you if you're brushing too hard
Cons
  • Requires an outlet
