I wear them to the gym and to the shops. The hole is small so you may need a shoehorn. The lace does not slip, so it sticks and has to be worked on to tighten the shoe. After tying it, I simply used a shoehorn. Again $19 was a lot as they are still in good shape 7 months later. They're dirty after all these months (I've worn them to lawn mowing and mulching). I'm replacing them with another gray New Balance pair, but not this pair as the price has gone up too much for me. They are very breathable and will keep your feet cool in the gym.
