Review on Recording Lighting Dimmable Photography Conference by Erik Gerber

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent reflected light camera with many features. but it can be a bit heavy

Weeylite RB9 is a near perfect video light for a camera. It has great controls that are easy to use, the quality of the light it emits is pure and clean, and the entire unit appears to be carved from a solid piece of iron - everything about it says "the best". I also really like using it. The only downside is the weight, which is higher than some other camera lights. For the extra heft you get a ton of features like full color temperature control from 2500K to 8500K and lots of fun candle effects. for police cars to flash and dim from full brightness to 1 percent. How bright is full brightness? I used this light from 4ft away in complete darkness to get the right exposure on my face with no problem - and the RB9 wasn't even at full brightness (see photo). The Weeylite RB9 comes with a small tripod and a cell phone adapter that allows you to use the RB9 as a blogging light (see photo). It's good, but I don't expect to use that much. Another accessory is a soft silicone condom that fully covers the RB9's face and sides. This silicone sleeve then acts as a diffuser and dims the light. Another interesting feature of the Weeylite RB9 is that it can act as an external power source to charge your mobile phone or tablet. The RB9's battery capacity is 3,000mAh, which isn't quite as much as a typical external power supply, but it's enough to add a bit of juice in a pinch. I look forward to using the RB9 extensively as a video light and have already used it on a number of projects. It is easy to use and easy to handle and gives off a lot of light. I recommend Weeylite RB9.
