40 years ago I had an unfortunate fall and injured my spine. Since then the training program has kept possible problems at bay and I have been able to be very active, even athletic. But at 75, an old injury has managed to thwart my plans to remain active, and after a day of heavy lifting that I have the strength for, I often have severe back pain for a week or two. . Between this belt and another one that I wrote an almost identical review for, my problem was solved. I only wear a belt when lifting weights, like shoveling heavy wet snow yesterday, and as a result I have never had any consequential pain from any of my activities. Because this belt can be worn through braces even when the belt is not tightened, I wear it when traveling to be able to handle our suitcases every time they need to be lifted (in/out of car; in/out of car) . . hanging box, etc.).
