Review on Beats Pro Totally Wireless And High-Performance Bluetooth Earphones -Lava Red (Renewed) by Pin Chun Lin ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The product is really good, Im glad I bought it.

Despite the fact that I generally liked the headphones, I can’t say that they are ideal . I would give them 4-, because. there are headphones that are cheaper and better in sound, and with Apt-X support, and with smaller cases. Another thing is that among SPORTS models there are no competitors. If you are on a tight budget, I would probably recommend the JBL Endurance Peak as a worthy alternative. I compared them in the store head-on-head, and JBL performed very worthy against the background of the Beats. Yes, they play a little less detailed, but quite exciting, and honestly win back their cost even with less autonomy. I would say that JBL gives more sound for every invested, but in general, of course, they are noticeably inferior to Beats. What else is on the market? Bose SoundSport is a competitor only on paper. In fact, they don’t stay in my ears even when walking, and there’s nothing to say about running, so I wouldn’t even consider them. With the Sony WF-1000XM3, the story is exactly the same: because of their form factor, they are perhaps only suitable for everyday needs, but definitely not for sports. The Chinese now, too, obviously inspired by Powerbeats Pro, began to rivet outwardly similar headphones, but I strongly doubt that at a price 8-10 times lower you can get at least some semblance of quality. In short, I'm all for what . If the budget allows, then you can buy, because. Beats, for all their minor shortcomings, unfortunately still has no competitors. These are good headphones in general, but I cannot recommend them as something exceptional.

Pros
  • - Battery life and charging speed; - Traditional for Apple stylish design; - True wireless when playing sports is a real buzz, which can be fully appreciated only after running a few years before with wired and conditionally wireless bt-headphones; - Good fit on the auricle (but not quite good in the ear canal! - more on that in the shortcomings). We can say that for running this is generally the most important requirement, for the sake of which I bought myself tw-headphones with an behind-the-ear headband and in-ear ear pads; - The packaging, of course, does not affect anything in terms of further everyday use, but here it is damn good! Opening a box for the first time without saying "wow!" you definitely won’t succeed - everything is done so cool and with attention to detail. To buy these headphones as a gift to your favorite runner is tempted for the sake of the box alone; - Although they are positioned as headphones for the iPhone (and the chip is from Airpods, if anyone did not know), however, almost all of their functions work fine with Android smartphones, in particular with Huawei / Honor. ("Almost" - because there is no Siri, you can not watch the charge without the Beats app and there is no support for Apt-X / Apt-X HD). For those who are concerned about the issue of such compatibility: a single press on the round button with a logo is a play / pause, or pick up / hang up during an incoming call. Double click - next track, triple - go to the beginning of the current track/previous track. Long hold - activation of the voice assistant (for obvious reasons, not Siri, but Google. You can probably somehow set up Alice, but I don’t play around with it, so I haven’t tried it). The volume rocker only works to adjust the volume. In the phone settings, you can also set either individual or global adjustment. All controls are fully mirrored on both headphones, which is very convenient. Well, the proximity sensor also works as it should: took out the earpiece - the music stopped, put it in - continued.
Cons
  • - Value for money. The sound here is not bad, but, of course, it doesn’t pull on either $250 (the price at the start of sales), or even $200 (to which the price dropped before the release of Airpods Pro). Although I was lucky to buy them in the USA already at a discount, but to be honest: there are a lot of headphones for the same money that sound much more interesting. If I took my ears not for sports, but for the sake of sound, I would choose Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless. Well, about the fact that for $ 200-250 you can take excellent studio hi-fi headphones, it’s better not to even remember, so as not to get upset. No, understand correctly: the sound here is quite normal, but you can get a similar sound over the wire within $ 100. You need to understand that here you pay mainly for the form factor, functionality, and, most importantly, for marketing, because Beats is Apple, with all the consequences. With Android, the ears could certainly sound better, but . in Cupertino they only hoe their own garden - there is no Apt-X! :( - Unfortunately, despite the fact that the headphones hold perfectly on the auricle, the ear cushions do not sit well in the ear canal, read - the bass and sound isolation disappear (By the way, many reviews say that, unlike Airpods, these Beats perfectly cut off external noise - Nonsense, do not believe it. From the strength of 10% they muffle, but the surrounding world is still audible, which I personally do not like). So for vacuum lovers, foam ear pads are a must-have; - When running in the cold in a hat (which, by the way, presses the headphones into your ear and returns the bass :), another minus was revealed: it is inconvenient that the volume rocker is located on top, because you have to crawl far under the hat with your index finger, and the ear freezes) It would be much better if the rocker was at the bottom and you could press it with your thumb without protruding the hat. But the round button presses perfectly even with gloves and through a hat; - It pisses me off that sometimes the ears can spontaneously fall off from bt, the phone sees them, but for some reason the music does not play. If you don’t have a case with you, then you have to walk all day without music. Not to say that this happened often, but a couple of times it happened.
