I originally connected the original Roku HDMI cable to a 1080P big screen TV. I wanted to connect a second 720P TV that accepts component inputs on the other side of the room. So I used a "splitter amplifier" (another purchase, OREI's 1x2 HDMI Splitter - 1 Port to 2 HDMI Display) and created two 1080P HDMI outputs. By connecting this adapter, a 1080p source could be upscaled to 720p on a 720p TV and converted to a component cable output. The same Roku stream is now on both TVs, separated by a 25-foot wall. Now both displays can be controlled from one controller.
