The waist is slim but stretchy. You might want to increase the size.
I ordered 4T. I would say it seems a bit small/tight. The waist is definitely smaller than my daughter's other 4Ts. This skirt still fits because it's stretchy, but it's tight. This is a sheer skirt that can be worn over pants, shorts, swimwear, etc.
