Comgrow 5W Laser Engraver

I built a homemade laser. I couldn't build a bigger one. I also have K40. The 5 watt laser has a lot more power and is a lot nicer and bigger than the previous one I had from Comgrow as you can see in the picture. It came with glasses, a mount, and cables to connect to various printers. But I bought it for my DIY project Laser. I use Lightburn and it works great, it's very close to my work and the laser protection is very good. Always wear safety goggles when using the laser and never leave it unattended. The control board I connected it to failed, after printing with it all day. I connected the smaller one. This happened once with an old laser that used to work fine and didn't check fire either. So I need to buy the best control board for it. This 5 watt laser has a cooling fan mounted on top of the laser to keep it cool and lock focus. Your focal length should be 22mm from your work. So I used a small piece of plastic from the top of the red acrylic to my work to get the right spacing. I've never gotten the software to work with my Ender 3, maybe it's different now, I don't know. But as I said, I use Lightburn and this 5 watt laser is installed in my DIY laser project and seems to be working fine. I have a group and channel called 3DHP. I will make a video about this laser soon. I hope this helped some of you who are interested in this laser head. Oh, and also if you're connecting this to a 3D printer, they have a Y-connector to plug into the fan connector and between the connectors on the outside of the printer, so you don't have to keep opening the control box to switch. I would recommend this laser for a DIY project and buy a Lightburn to go with it. they have a Y-connector for plugging into the fan connector and between the connectors on the outside of the printer, so you don't have to keep opening the control box to switch.
