Okay first of all my 4 boys have been wearing shirts regularly for 15 years, I buy them in all the big stores. These shirts are good, they just run small compared to other brands (especially the sleeve length). So I recommend going up a size, not down. (Note: I bought a shirt my 13 year old size and it turned out to be too short so I gave it to my 11 year old so the boy's sleeves wouldn't appear too short in my photo.) If your child is small, it can be cozy, these shirts are longer and narrower. But for a normal sized child that shouldn't be a problem. Generally very good! *Tip: If the pocket seems too big or too low for your child, you can use a seam ripper and remove the pocket entirely, wash the shirt and you'd never know there was a pocket at all. Also, the tie is a cable tie, which I think is better than a tie clip, and the length was good (not too short).
