For a smaller ring light, this is ideal.
I have an 18" Neewer ring light and wanted to put something smaller on my desk than a traditional tripod. It definitely takes up less desk space than a tripod on your desk, but I think 18" is way too big for this small desk stand. It snags, but even when I'm typing I can see the light moving with each key press. I could just downgrade to a smaller light because of the compromise with a bigger one Light but just not worth a big tripod without my desk In any case, it packs up quickly and gets past my two monitors, which is perfect.
