Oh I had such high hopes for these French boots. I bought 2 shelves of free will that didn't come with the hardware to install them. These were floating shelves. So I did some research online and found these French boots to be a great alternative to buying Ballard Designs gear. I spent 3 hours methodically finding the studs, screwing holes in the walls and in the shelves themselves. Bottom line, once I leveled everything and hung it on the wall, the bar couldn't stand up to this shelf (and this shelf is under the weight limit for these). What looks normal in a few photos, the shelf didn't fit directly against the wall and had a 1cm gap. The Spikes couldn't support that kind of shelf. I lost 3 hours of my life and now I rate these shelves as goodwill which isn't really a measure of goodwill as I know it will upset the next chump like hell to buy them. I will also donate boots. I missed my window to return them as we all put our projects on hold sometimes. So unfortunately I didn't give the company a chance to get it right and for that I'm giving an extra star for not putting everything around what I want. Bottom line: if you're a NASA genius or hanging a light object, you can probably figure it out. Not me.
