My wife and I decided to buy these teethers for our son who is now 8 months old. He started eating solid food a few months ago and we started giving him snacks a month ago. We have found that he likes the teethers we gave him. We figured since he likes teethers (and can eat both solid and hands-on foods), he'll like something he can actually eat and taste like. We took blueberry carrots because he likes sweet fruits. He can chew on a teether and swallow after a few bites, making him fairly small and not a choking hazard. We watched him closely the first few times to make sure he didn't swallow a huge bite, but he did a good job so we're not worried now, although we're still watching him to make sure. For those parents whose child is not used to eating solid and hands-on foods, I would wait until your child has reached this stage.
