UPDATED: July 2019 My son has been using this lunch box for a year and everything has been fine. The soft sides weren't perfect because he was so rough with his lunch box, and it often crushed his chips that were in the bag. Also the handle started to wear out after about 2/3 years. But my son was tough with it. I'm not changing my assessment, just sharing my experience of how he packs his lunch every day. Also, if he spilled something in the lunch box, like applesauce or juice, it was harder to just wipe it up. But it was easy to wash and dry. I bought this lunch box for my high school son. This is a great lunch box and I highly recommend it. It is spacious and well insulated. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is that it isn't stiff on the sides to keep its shape. If you put a sandwich or fries in, they can get crushed because the walls aren't rigid. If the sides were rigid then I would definitely get 5 stars. But it's a very good lunch box and works well for my son.
