As a DIY enthusiast I usually choose higher quality components than what you can get at the shop because I save money on labor. When I saw this kit at Revain it seemed like a nice upgrade over the standard for a bit more money. They were also listed as AMAZON Prime. The PowerStop ad made me think their target market is handymen like me. I love that they included mounting hardware, rubber boots for the caliper sliders, and pad lube. The rear rotors and pads went easy. On the fronts it was not so easy. The outer pads have metal clips that are held in place with a rivet-like fastener. When I tried to insert the pads into the caliper hanger, the clips popped out easily. I tried to attach them and they popped out again. Both outer pads failed in the same way. (I'm more than concerned that a component my life depends on has these kinds of quality issues.) And then the frustration started. PowerStop Customer Service and Technical Support is closed on Saturdays and Sundays. As a do-it-yourselfer this is a problem. When I contacted them by phone on Monday, I was told that they respond to customer support requests in the order they receive emails. I sent the email on Monday morning so I wasn't at the top of the list. Also, I was told that they only have a couple of CS agents who already have a weekend of email backlog. I was promised an email response within 24 hours. Needless to say, my simple 2-3 hour Saturday project didn't go to plan. I will let you know as soon as this is resolved.
