Truly plug and play

Many other customers have already commented on the picture quality (amazing), colors (amazing), and sound (MUCH better than I expected). I'll tell you what I think as someone who doesn't have much technical experience. The best thing for me is that this portable monitor is the same size as my laptop screen. I may have separate desktops and multiple windows open on my laptop, but the screen is getting crowded. I write, blog and study on my laptop. In my experience, a second screen is the next best thing to a second computer. I really like that it is included in the case/stand. My laptop screen is protected by closing, so it's nice to have a cover for that extra monitor. I can put both devices in the same bag without worrying about scratches. Incidentally, it fits perfectly in my pocket and fully corresponds to the description of "portable". Cables and cords can also be easily tucked away. The fact that the lid also serves as a stand is ingenious. Judging by the photos, I don't have a very large workstation. The portable monitor is slim enough to be used with or without a stand. As I said, although I use technique, I'm not very good at details. Having something I can just plug in and use makes my experience better. That was one thing I worried about. It took me a while to figure out that there are multiple ways to connect a monitor to my laptop (or phone), so I wish the different cables were more clearly labeled for people like me. I estimate it took me about 5 minutes to figure out which wires go where. After that, all I had to do was go into Windows 10 settings to figure out how to identify and manage two different monitors. I like to use the "Extend" option so I can drag screens from my laptop onto my laptop and vice versa. Before that I had no idea what the difference is between extend or duplicate and the like! Another thing I was worried about (and decided to return immediately if that was an issue) was that the picture quality (brightness, etc.) wouldn't look as good as the product photos showed. Luckily the quality is good. I actually had to learn how to use the menu to access and play with the settings, but I haven't. I do want to mention that after turning off the monitor you may need to go back and correct the brightness if you get the picture settings you want. At least I had to. I turn off my monitor (and unplug it from my laptop) every night. This is not a problem; Just wanted other users to know. The rest of the settings appear to be as I left them. BTW, one of my photos was taken before I figured out how to set up the graphics. This is my dream gift to myself. I have enjoyed working with two monitors at work and was so happy to find something affordable and suitable for me at home. I have already told a few of my family members about this as they now work exclusively from home. I read a lot of reviews and for me it came down to value for money: what can I afford and how well do the reviews read? . It's expensive for my budget but I think I made a good choice. If I could afford to give one of these away as a gift, the presentation would be really nice. It's a perfunctory thing to mention, but it was packaged so nicely.
