This is my third pair of these shorts - I have black, khaki and savannah (red). There is a zipped pocket on each hip, perfect for an iPhone 6S - plenty of room for a large phone. Functional drawstring on the inside of the waistband, the elastic is not too tight. Built-in panties are large so you don't feel like you're wearing underwear that's too tight. It would be great for real running, but not much if you want to hide your phone in shorts and push too much. But for errands, trips, gardening and more, bags are perfect. 5ft 3in, 115lbs with big quads and a thick waist, and the small size fits great.
