The original is better than the deluxe! Thinner, lighter and less rigid. The "rubber" coating on the ends does not interfere or bother in any way. If you have trouble choosing a version, choose the original Loopbelt. It's such a simple product that there really isn't much to say about it. I actually bought the Deluxe first because when my phone was in my hoodie pocket, the screen hit my belt buckle. I also work a lot on my car and this is cheap insurance for both situations. Velcro is pretty traditional, except you have both "sides" of Velcro in one. There is velcro on both strips so you can stick one side to yourself. This comes in handy when you need to unbuckle your belt to go to the bathroom as you can get the ends of the belt out of the way. However, these are traditionally loudly tearing Velcro fasteners. Don't expect quiet operation. The remaining unused piece of Velcro will stick to clothing. These are mainly the seams along the bottom of the shirts as the threads are hooked onto Velcro hooks. This is not a chronic problem, but it does happen from time to time. Velcro holds very tight. You can make it too tight and try to push your stomach out as far as you want, it won't move. You won't hear the sound of the velcro during the day unless you pull at the end. Great belt, I wear it every day.
