Review on Chemical Guys SPI_208 Colorless Odorless by Kevin Bucher

I would not recommend this cleaner again

Original unedited review below. This is one instance where I changed my mind about a product after receiving more information and I think anyone reading this review should know everything I have written. First rating was 4 stars. I cannot recommend this cleaner more. It only took me part of a seat to realize that the so-called janitor didn't do a really good job of cleaning. I've included a photo of the rag that came loose after cleaning part of the seat with Meguiar's Super Degreaser. I used Meguiars first on a small part of the seat and then on the whole underside (where the person sits on it) to remove the stain. I thought my seat was clean when I "cleaned" the seat with the Chemical Guys cleaner less than 3 months ago and then again a few minutes before using the Meguiars product. After wiping down the seat (after cleaning) with this product, the cloth showed little to no dirt. I was shocked to see the Super Degreaser pick up so much dirt that was still on the seat. In fact, the so-called Chemical Guys cleaner didn't clean the seat, which shouldn't have been that dirty. I have used this product for several years and since 2015 several times a year on this vehicle (as well as others). It's true that this product has occasionally caused me to pick up dirt on a rag - on the unusual occasion that 6 months or more goes between cleanings. But there's no excuse for this product picking up NO (or very little) dirt and another cleaner picking up A LOT of dirt after just a few minutes. This product has cleaning properties, but trust me, your car's leather is dirtier than you think. I know it's mine and I take very good care of my cars. I will use Meuguiar's All Purpose Car Leather Cleaner and the mentioned Super Degreaser when the leather is really dirty. Original Review: I have to say I'm not a huge fan of Chemical Guys cleaning products (I liked some of their mittens, towels, and other gear), but I'm starting to like this one and their other leather and interior items. I've had this for a while and have used it on several vehicles and am impressed with its ability to easily clean leather. I've read some reviews and I don't know, people who use the product and don't like it just don't understand how to use it or not, but you MUST shake pretty much any cleaner on the surface you're using. try to clean up to get good results. Leather isn't like a Formica counter or bath, you can spray a little 409 cleaner or mild scrub on, rub it down with a sponge or paper towel, and the surface will be clean. You should clean the leather with either a brush or a light (non-abrasive) scouring pad. If your car's leather is really clogged with a hammer, you'll probably need to use an all-purpose cleaner like Chemical Guys or Meguiar's AP Cleaner. Feel free to use them on almost any car leather (test both in small, hidden spots first), but DO NOT use AP cleaners or this leather home cleaner. The skin of the car is covered with a plastic coating that protects the skin while your sofa/chair can be protected. Contact the manufacturer for information on cleaning this item. Overall I recommend this product but please read the instructions and use properly. I first wipe down the leather seats with a warm, damp microfiber cloth, spray liberally on the seat and rub into the leather. I wipe off the excess, often with another damp (rattled) microfiber cloth. If you want you can wipe the seats with a dry cloth or let them dry, but make sure they are really dry. You don't want mold or mildew to grow in your car. This is unlikely to happen after use, but if you park in a damp place, do not dry the car interior well, as a musty smell may form.
