Review on Valkit IPad Air (3Rd Gen) 10 Tablet Accessories by Christine Sanchez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The volume rockers are tricky, but here's the fix!

This could have been a 5 star rating if the volume rockers were working properly. I love these thick rubber cases and buy them for ALL my devices but there is a slight downside to this. I have no issues with the power button and it doesn't obscure the camera at all, but the volume rockers have no effect on changing the audio level. Luckily I found a solution so I didn't have to send the suitcase back. I just took a sharp blade (not sure if larger knives/blades would work) and simply cut along the long side of each button but left them attached to the short sides. This allows the buttons to be pressed further and the volume buttons to be depressed while remaining attached to the case and maintaining the structural integrity of the case. You should be able to see where I made the cuts in the photos. It's not a perfect solution, as it still takes a bit of work to hit the volume controls, but not as much once you get used to it. Also, you risk voiding your warranty if you try this and it doesn't work for you. BUT in a case that costs less than $20 and is fantastic in every way except for this flaw, it was worth the risk for me. And in every other way it's fantastic - I had a DIFFERENT case for a different tablet which is a cover design flaw. It didn't stand up properly and often fell face forward due to the weight of the tablet. THIS suitcase stands upright and will never tip over unless I bump into it or put it on an uneven surface! love it
