Review on Eddie Bauer Women's Trench Coat - Perfect for On-The-Go Fashion by Dee Kray

I was looking for a new raincoat as my favorite LL Bean H2 trench coat was showing its age and was no longer waterproof. I've explored LL Bean, Columbia, Eddie Bauer and Land's End to find the next waterproof trench coat. I loved the style of the Weather Edge Trench Coat and felt I could wear it everyday or to work. The trench coat seemed like a good three season coat and if I ordered a size roomy enough to accommodate multiple layers. I'm 1x and small but wanted a little more space so I ordered 2x. I can not confirm water resistance after return. For $139 I expected more, this trench coat doesn't fit. I find the trench too expensive. I don't mind paying a little more for quality because I usually keep my coats for a long time. Fit: 1. The sleeves were 2 1/2 inches longer. There are no adjustment options such as buttons or Velcro to tighten the cuffs. I rolled them up but they were flexible and loose.2. The thighs were elastic. I managed to button my coat and sit up, but I felt uncomfortable. The size chart says 2 x hips (50-52) inches. My hips are 48 inches. I was wearing yoga pants, so not because I was wearing bulky pants. The hood is very deep and huge. I put it on and it covered my whole face up to my chin. I couldn't see anything and the adjustable drawstring is useless. That just makes the hole smaller. I don't think Eddie Bauer tried that on a human during development. A smaller coat doesn't help either. The size and design of the hood is simply gigantic.4. I have a thin waist and in the photo the coat looks narrower in the waist. I thought, great, it's not shapeless. The trench coat has a straight cut, the waist is not gathered, as in the photo. If you don't have curves it might be a good style but it didn't look good.6. The length was good, it was about 4 inches above my knee. I like a longer coat that protects me from wind, rain, etc. I have to say that's the only good thing about it. This cape didn't fit me properly and was a huge disappointment.
