This product is made of a durable plastic. The 12v cord was long and is appreciated. The same size as a normal 42 Quart ice chest. The temp was immediately dropped to the lowest settings (-4) on both the big and small side. 20 minutes in, the temp was noticeable and with in a hour pretty much cold. We took a 12 hour trip and wanted to test this out. We loaded drinks on the big side and ice cream on the mall side. It worked fine. We got to our destination and stayed a week. The day before leaving we shopped and purchased some meats. We set the big side to a freezer and also left the small size to a freezer. No ice needed, a welcome benefit. The travel was nice and when we got home all was still frozen as expected. The product will need to have air flow as the compressor will need to breath, just and FYI if you get this product or any like this. I do not think the wheels will do well on the beach with sand. But for basic in and out of the vehicle to a hotel room or paved camp sites this will do. The handle and wheels did help but don't expect it will do well in sand. Overall I give this a 5 as it did all it was advertised it would do. We also have a solar generator and did try it on this product. Although there is a specific portable battery for this our portable generator worked fine. We plan on getting a second one for longer trips. No ice, a huge benefit. The only thing I wish it did have is a blue tooth connect so you can control the settings from your cell phone. For what we paid for this, a good buy in our opinion.
