My computer keyboard is in a shelf that can be pushed under the table when not in use. It doesn't slide out all the way, however, and the function keys on top aren't visible at night, even with the overhead lights on. I mounted this light to the underside of my desk and it accommodates a keyboard tray and the cord runs through the back of the tray and is the right length to connect to a surge protector on the floor. It illuminates the back keys on the keyboard with no glare in my eyes. I am very satisfied with the result.
