This scale does not connect directly to the fitness app of your choice. Instead, you have to download their app, which requires location permission even when not in use, and access to ALL MEDIA AND FILES. There is no reasonable explanation why an application that measures body weight needs such access. If you deny or restrict access, the application will not load and the scale will revert to kg. IF you allow access to connect to Google Fit, nothing happens. The weight doesn't update or anything. I uninstalled the app and now have an expensive digital "dumb" scale that only shows weight in kg. waste of money.
