Review on 🍞 TQVAI Natural Bamboo 3-tier Bread Box with Clear Window, Cutlery Tray Drawer, Detachable 2-tier Can Rack Organizer - Assembly Required, Original by Valerie Alicea

Revainrating 4 out of 5

There's a lot to unpack here!

Okay, so this is (as expected) made up of a lot of small parts that need to be assembled. First, the instructions aren't very good. They're not terrible either, but they're not something you'd want. However, a few things can help you. Comes with 2 types of screws. Self-tapping screws (with sharp pointed ends) and threadless (with a flat end). Wood screws and pan head screws for handles. There are 2 identical sets of these hand screws and 1 set is a little shorter. Remember that the shorter set is the one you use in your cutlery drawer. There are also 4 pucks. These 4 washers should be used on the inside of each glass door where the handle attaches. No washers are used, required or provided for the cutlery drawer handle. None of this is mentioned in the instructions. Also, attach the handles to the doors and drawer first. This should be the first step of this build.2. Some of the wooden parts were mislabeled. In the drawer part of the box in particular, the center shelf and bottom were mislabeled. So don't trust labels 100%. When assembling, make sure all parts are aligned with grooves cut (to slide the back).3. While I think it's clear from the listing that this bread bin comes in two pieces, I don't see where it's mentioned that the two pieces actually have magnets holding them together. The handle isn't very strong, but it's nice to have.4. Quite coincidentally, it came with some accessories. 1 set of cutlery (butter knife, large fork, small fork, tablespoon, teaspoon) and some wax paper inserts to put on the bottom of each section of the box. as an insert for a shelf. Different types of bread etc. are written on wax paper.5. He stinks. I had a headache and sat on the porch to get some air. It smells like paint or something.6. The glass in the doors (both doors) is broken. I assume this is true across the board. So if that's something you're upset about, this isn't for you. Overall the build quality wasn't bad, but we didn't use the included screwdriver. . We chose to use an electric drill to work faster BUT you risk splitting the wood. We didn't cause any damage as we were very careful, but a screwdriver is a safer and slower method. So if you choose a drill like ours, be careful not to damage it. The tree stinks. Air it outdoors. Follow the instructions, but also remember the points I've touched on here and you're good to go. Overall it looks and works well. It's not as big as it looks, but it's a functional bread bin.

Pros
  • Fingers crossed
Cons
  • There are downsides
