I have put together some new playpens but some come with no padding. If someone doesn't have a plush rug, they need some kind of rug. This mat is a great option, but while it inflates easily, deflation is a whole different story. I unfolded the blanket and it puffed up pretty quickly. It is not necessary to have a pump at hand for this. It's nice and thick, comfortable and durable once inflated. When you need a mat on hand, either for play or to complement a smaller playpen, this mat is perfect. I couldn't empty it well enough to put it back in the nylon pouch. It's not wearable. I was able to fold it in half but couldn't roll it well enough to carry around. The material used in this rug is excellent and should last. The kit includes a pair of pads in case of a flat tyre.
