Bought for daughter in law moving to a new home. We bought a similar product a few years ago that attaches to the back of a camera for our home. Your cameras are exposed to the elements so the camera body adds an extra layer of protection and the threaded base keeps the camera secure. The only problem is that one of the three sockets was unthreaded, so we were only able to install two. Even with a non-threaded base, I can't find anything wrong with this product. I would be grateful if they would send me a replacement
