Sturdy glass. It has withstood accidental drops from about 3.5 feet onto hardwood. Collisions with ceramic beakers and pipettes. I took it out of the fridge and filled it with almost boiling hot coffee. I even filled it with near-boiling hot coffee and put it in the freezer! It's great for brewing, Japanese-style cold brewing, overnight cold brewing, and it's just STRONG! very controlled filling. The handle feels like cheap plastic but is sturdy. There is no play, no wobble, even in extreme temperatures. My only concern is that it's a bit small for the amount of coffee I've been making lately. However, this is not such a big problem, I just pour the full container into another vessel and continue cooking in this little master.
