Review on Burgundy Signature Type Cover for Microsoft Surface Pro - FFP-00041: A Classy Keyboard & Protective Accessory by Daryl Fitch

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A complete improvement over the previous version

I bought this for my Surface Pro 3. The whole time I had this device, as much as I loved it, I kept thinking to myself how much I hated this keyboard. So much so that I hated using it with a crappy trackpad. The keys always felt so cramped because there was no separation between them. And worst of all, while it magnetically presses against the bottom of the Surface to support the keyboard, it covers part of the bottom of the screen, making it difficult to tap on taskbar icons. Who developed it? The updated keyboard for the Surface Pro line improves and fixes almost all the issues with the original. The buttons are arranged in an island/island style. Go all the way within 4mm of the edge on each side. The original left twice as much space. It also expands vertically, approaching the top of the keyboard. To do this, of course, you have to cut off the part that is magnetically attached to the screen. The connection isn't as strong now, but there's a nice space between the bottom of the screen and the keyboard for more comfortable tapping on the taskbar icons. The mice are 40% larger and look great compared to the original. Backlit keys are much better. They're not brighter, but less light escapes around the edges of the keys, making letters and symbols easier to read. The empty feeling and noise when typing is still there, but it feels harder and quieter when typing. It has made the Surface 3 Pro the PC I love, the PC I love! Thanks to Microsoft for backwards compatibility with Surface Pro 3!
