I bought one of these about 18 months ago to cool the voltage regulators in a tube preamp I'm building. With audio devices, the fan must of course be absolutely quiet. For the price, I'd say this is the quietest fan you can get; but I would like more durability. After about seven or eight months of use, averaging a few hours a day, it gradually started making more and more noise until it was as loud as a cheap regular fan. Around the same time, he began generating electrical noise that returned to the power supply, interfering with the audio circuits. I ended up replacing it with a more expensive "Fluid Dynamic Bearing" fan which I hope will hold up better.
