I bought a pair of Doc Martens boots that were absolute torture on my feet. I wanted the "Made in England" handmade ones, but the leather was expectedly thick, which means you have to break them in. These trees helped the process. I used leather stretch conditioner on the inside of the boots and used these shoe trees every day for two weeks to stretch the boots out. Now they are incredibly comfortable!When I was 20, I probably would have just put up with the discomfort from the new boots. I'm almost 50, so these trees kept me from throwing the boots out!
