My wife could see the TV from the kitchen but couldn't hear it without turning the volume up enough to disturb the neighbors, so I bought this for her. Installation was scary, I had to try several options, but the best was the simplest - connect the red and white coax cables to the back of the TV. Now we can watch TV while we repair and have dinner; and we even tried it in the basement and it works there too. Sometimes the sound disappears, but not that often. We've found that placing the receiver on a refrigerator works better than placing it on a countertop.
