I wanted to install bar lights under my kitchen cabinets and they worked great. I could have just used an LED strip coil but wanted something with a built in dimmer and the ability to add more light in the future without the soldering that this product offers. This product also had a regular wall plug that plugs into the 'brick' to control power, while most LED strips have power control with the plug itself (e.g. a cell phone charger). This feature allowed me to cut the plug off the cord and plug it directly into a standard household outlet/light switch. I hid the "brick" and wires in the corner of one of the closets, and in general, you would never have guessed that they were there. The instructions said the power supply shouldn't be left on for more than 12 hours at a time, probably because it gets hot, so I just turn the light on and off with the main wall switch. instead of just a dimmer switch (which is after the "brick" in the circuit).
