I have previously had very sensitive skin so this product causes recurrence of acne but I also use the toner at the same time as the face cream with this toner every other wood except that I feel a lot softer than the ones we bought from the store but you can still feel it's working and it's still slightly astringent. It doesn't dry out my face like most wood and it still goes well when I use spot treatments, it's not an overtone and it evens out my complexion a bit, especially in the mornings when I'm very spotty to begin with
