Review on Sony Bloggie Touch MHS TS10 Silver by Eric Garron

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Video and photo quality is lower than expected

I would not recommend this to anyone who already has a mobile device such as an MP3 player or smartphone that takes acceptable video and photos. I have a basic Samsung Galaxy MP3 player from last year that takes better photos and comparable videos. I was only trying to use it indoors as that is the main purpose I bought it for. The room was well lit in the middle of the day, but the video was grainy and had poor color reproduction. Photos were even worse despite the 12-megapixel camera. The Sony Bloggie touchpad is a good size and stylish looking. The touch screen controls are very simple yet easy to use. The USB wand that sticks out to plug in for downloading and charging is a bit flimsy, but it includes a very short adapter cable that plugs into the USB connector with the USB connector on the other end for the computer. No need to connect the camera to the computer at an odd or unreliable angle. I have not attempted to use the software. I just used the Control Panel in Windows to access files directly. It was easy. In general it is very easy to use. I didn't need a guide to figure it out. I like the internal storage better, but see this as a limitation for others. I've seen in other reviews that the Bloggie Touch has been available for as little as $60 in the past. For those who don't have a mobile device that captures videos and photos, this would be great at this price point. But for $100+, especially if you already have something that captures acceptable video and photos, I'd skip it.
