I wanted to wait a few weeks before leaving my review. My cat had dandruff and a local skin condition that caused his skin to dry out and then break off taking the hairballs with it. Very worrying. It was actually just a dry skin problem and the vet recommended fish oil. I didn't want to give him fish oil pills because, frankly, I wanted to avoid the paperwork by shoving pills down the throat of a protesting cat every morning. Cats don't take pills calmly so we had to either force feed them or open them up and give him the liquid inside. Since we probably wanted to do the latter, I skipped the pills and went straight to the liquid. We also give him dry food instead of wet food during the day. I wasn't quite sure how to use this oil for fear it would freeze or spoil and not be eaten in time. My solution was to grab a treat and put it on my plate. I took an eyedropper and applied the oil to the treat. The first time I did it, he didn't want to: he'd never eaten butter, it was sticky, he arched his back, smacked his lips and acted like I ruined his treat by buttering it. He wouldn't take all the butter: he would just eat the treat and leave the rest of the butter untouched. I had to use multiple treats to encourage him to get the best. It bothered me because we can't give him 5 treats every morning just to get him to take his medicine. It's bad for your health. Within a week he not only got used to the oil but fell in love with it. It's been a few weeks and he loves it. He'll come running when he sees I'm making his dish with butter and a treat. Very disgusting meow. I won't stop until I put it on. He licks his plate clean and keeps licking just to make sure he doesn't miss a drop, so dosage isn't an issue - whatever I put in, he'll eat it all. Hence two stars: the cat loves it and accepts it without complaint. My cat is around 13lbs so I gave her 75ml which was the suggested dosage on the bottle. In retrospect, it was already too much, especially as the first dose, because he vomited on the second day. I reduced the dosage to 50ml and it worked great. I still keep it at 50ml. Here are the other three stars: His coat is smooth and silky. His skin is no longer flaky and areas that were dry and scaly/flaky are clearing up. That's why I gave five stars here. Three stars because it works, two stars because the cat loves it. TL; DR: If your cat doesn't like butter at first, pretend it's a treat and give her a week. You will probably like it. If your cat vomits less than the recommended weight dose, reduce the dose by about 20-25ml to see if that helps. The product works and I have seen clear results in coat and skin condition within three weeks. The cat is still hooked and still doing wonders for his fur and skin. 10/10 recommend.
