We recently switched my daughter's diabetic cat to a low carb wet food and Fancy Feast, Savory Salmon Feast is her favorite by far! We had no trouble transitioning her from prescription kibble to low carb Fancy Feast strains. I'm not a vet but my daughter's cat was on insulin for about 7 years and she started having other issues related to her diabetes. After a lot of research, I came across information on how to test blood sugar levels at home and feed cats only low-carb wet food. After careful instruction we made the transition and amazingly the cat is now in remission! No insulin! And her vet, who has never been a fan of home testing, is just as surprised and delighted as we are. (Don't try to switch to an insulin dependent cat without lots of research, information and advice. I have now switched all my cats to the Fancy Feast low carb options. after learning about the link between dry food and diabetes all my cats love this hearty salmon. They eat other varieties in a pinch, but they always rave about salmon. I use the subscribe and save option as I have a lot of cats and it's cheaper and I never run to the store late at night to look for cat food.
