I am a field technician and carry a backpack and a lunch box with me every day. In my backpack I have a notebook, as well as various braces, creams and painkillers for the joints that are sore that day. When my lunch box started falling apart, I was looking for something that could combine both bags into one. Most cooler backpacks I found didn't have enough space to store dry food, and I didn't have to carry large amounts of ice or lots of alcohol. The back compartment has a laptop compartment, a small laptop sleeve and space for other items. The middle compartment has 2 pockets for my compression sleeves and braces. Anything in the middle compartment but not in these pockets will get in the way of the cooler. A zippered front compartment accommodates creams and painkillers, while a small front pocket accommodates a glasses case. The fridge contains 4 bottles of frozen water, 1 cold water, 1 spice, lunch meat and a cup of applesauce. This keeps my food cold until the next day when the bag stays in my van all day in the Texas summer. This fits my needs perfectly.
