Numerous technical difficulties

UPDATE 2: Sorry but I had to downgrade this to 1 star. Since adding this camera to my Eufy Security app, I've had multiple crashes and extreme lag EVERY DAY. I can get notifications, but once I click them, they don't play or download. Until I figure out what to do to fix the problem, I recommend that you DO NOT add this camera to your Eufy Security app. UPDATE: After adding this camera to my Eufy Security app, my iPhone started lagging badly. The Eufy app is very slow, sometimes it takes 30 seconds for the video to load and sometimes it doesn't load at all. This affects all functions of my phone when using LTE. When I'm indoors, the app generally works well with a few lags and glitches here and there. Viewing recorded events is almost useless away from home. Live broadcast? Forget it! My iPhone's performance dropped so much that I even called Verizon, thinking my account was suspended or there was some other technical issue. No, at Verizon everything was as it should be. This camera was added to the Eufy Security app and was the only recent change. The Eufy doorbell connected via HomeBase2 worked great until this camera was added to the app. So buyers beware and keep that in mind. There may be some technical issues and performance issues with this device. I don't understand this as I'm using the microSD card that came with the device and browsing through the Eufy Security app as instructed. I don't use cloud services. I know it's made in China but oh well! Well, that's fine. Perhaps my use of this camera does not match the website I have it on. It doesn't surprise me. My friend said the resolution is better than many commercial security cameras. It may be true, so I'll admit it. I ran the geodesic wheel along the wall of the house. The other side of the air conditioner is about 10 feet from the camera. The farthest bedroom window is about 24 feet high. The end of the wall is 28 feet. The spotlight gives decent color video at just over 10 feet (maybe around 12). IR night vision has good resolution up to 20 feet. So at night I could see someone fiddling with the air conditioner or fiddling with the bathroom windows. From the bedroom window downstairs I could tell someone was there, but there wouldn't be any useful detail. THIS IS ALL REGARDING MY CAMERA PLACEMENT. Next to the camera I have a brick wall on one side and a wooden fence and eaves on the other. In front of the camera I have a big bush. All of these objects reflect IR waves back to the camera, limiting the distance it can see clearly. The field of view is wide. While I'm watching my air conditioner and side windows, I'm also watching my neighbor's air conditioner and windows. My guess is that she gets free but very limited security for part of her house. People detection works as it should and "pet" detection is only in beta but seems to be working fine too. In the middle of the night the camera spotted, alerted and captured the possum. The camera is about the size of a baseball, making it invisible; However, Eufy likes to make all his cameras WHITE, which defeats any camouflage. So you see a bright white baseball camera on top of my fence. Combined with the magnetic mounting system, I have a high-tech security camera that is "free for a good home". Of course, the camera will capture your average gaze, but any serious or experienced criminal will just rip the camera off or spray paint it. The bright white Eufy cameras are eye-catching to say the least, just begging to be fake. Overall, this is a good short-range camera, less than 25 feet. I think maybe I placed it wrong and need to use it somewhere else. If 3 photos are included. An IR night vision scope, a night vision illuminator, a sunrise daylight.

Pros
  • Security in focus: A powerful integrated spotlight on an outdoor security camera illuminates the surroundings when motion is detected. It also ensures that you can follow every point in full color even in low light.
Cons
  • Expensive
