Review on Sony TDM-iP10 Digital Media Port Cradle: Enhance iPod and MP3 Player Experience (Black) by Daniel Russell

No video support, no iPod menu browsing

This product works well as an audio product that can send music from an iPod through the receiver's DMPORT port, but it does not work as advertised. Both Sony and Revain state on their websites that this device allows you to view the content of your iPod on the screen. After my attempts to achieve this failed I contacted Sony support and now they insist that this product indeed CANNOT. Instead they said that I should buy a TDM-iP1 for this functionality. I'm trying to get a refund and then buy another Sony product. When you don't need to browse the iPod menu on your TV, this product is ideal for your audio-only needs. Addendum: I later saw a slightly unfavorable review on CNET of another Sony DMPORT iPod stand (TDM-iP1), so I'll stick with my TDM-iP10. If you can agree that it doesn't have the advertised ability to watch your iPod on your TV, it's otherwise a very useful product. This allows me to use the Sony receiver remote to control my iPod and it's really amazing how great compressed MP3 files can sound on iPod through a good surround sound system. I wish Sony would be more specific in their advertising of this product, but other than that it's a great product and definitely worth the price if you have a good surround sound setup to use it with.
