After receiving this today I installed the NVMe SB-ROCKET-2TB and ran a quick Blackmagic speed test. Installation was as easy as it gets and the build quality leaves a lot to be desired. While I haven't tested this device extensively, the copper heatsink seems to make good contact with the chipsets and provide decent heat transfer. Again, I haven't tested this extensively and will update as needed, this is just my initial feedback. Using the Blackmagic Disk Speed Test utility, I see 2239 MB/s writing and 2436.5 MB/s reading when transferring 5 GB to an exFAT formatted file system. Tested on my 2018 MacBook Pro (15") with macOS Catalina 10.15.6. MacBook Pro specifications: 2.9 GHz 6-core Intel Core i9 processor, 32 GB DDR4 2400 MHz RAM and Radeon Pro Vega 20 4 GB. Although I I'm not seeing the full potential of NVMe, I'm happy with the speeds I'm seeing. I need to continue testing the reliability of the Yottamaster implementation of the JHL6340 controller (Alpine Ridge launch date: Q2 2016) without USB fallback. I will update this when I have more time to use this case but for now this is a quick look.
