Kitty loves to chew on plastic things. Pocket rims, pre-made salad bags in the fridge, whatever. His lips or cheeks are constantly swollen. The vet said to keep him away from plastic, including food and water bowls, as these can harbor bacteria. So I removed the original plastic invaders leaving a stash of wet food teacup saucers, a couple of dry food ceramic bowls and now the kitten has glass water cups. That helped. But somehow this cat finds things that bacteria give him. I can't bring him a toothbrush without blood. I'm bleeding, not him. Since I have about 5 patches right now, I thought ok, I'll try silver. You know I've used it on my own problems, so is it safe enough to try? He really HATED trying to spray it in his mouth, on his face and even on his paw. He escaped after making me bleed from multiple places. Instead, I started spraying it into his water. And I sprayed it on his wet food. At first he was very suspicious of the spray and when he saw me using it he avoided water and food. But. Once he tried it, he preferred both with the addition of a spray. I do not know why. I was just glad I have something in his body that can help. It was like this. We hoped he wouldn't have to sedate him or render him unconscious and end up with a very expensive dental bill from the vet. Kitty hasn't been chewing as much lately, and I've added some Greenies tooth treats to the cat's daily water sprays. Kitty still demands water spray and now even looks at me when I'm not spraying him with wet food. I don't know if I can use this with him long term, but maybe I'll just pour bottled water into a spray bottle later. I want to speak to the vet about buildup in the kitten's liver or other areas. But overall I was so happy to see that Kitty's face looked normal and beautiful like it should be. I doubted the cost but after a month of daily use I can honestly say I'm glad I found this product. It took a lot longer than I thought and we change his water at least 4 times a day, adding silver to each new water filler and never using the same container for more than 2 days. I have no idea what's inside or on the plastic he finds to chew on. But I can control food and water, and right now that's the best there is. Since I can't get by with toothy products or brushes. He's not a little cat. I can't fight a 15 pound strongman head-on. Glad there are options.
