Revainrating 5 out of 5

Best affordable helicopter ever!

I've never actually given a five star rating on ebay as far as I can recall but today I'll make an exception. Now, what can I say about this drone? (Cause it is a drone after all). Well let's start with the design. I love the sleek look into a helicopter shape. It makes it look like something out of the future for air travel. Now in terms of control, I've had other drones before and even a helicopter from Syma, but none of them ever flew like this one. Once you link your remote to the helicopter and start your engines, just gradually increase your rotor's speed via the throttle (left joystick on the remote), and you're up in the air. The helicopter itself is pretty well balanced so you can actually just hover there (providing there are no gusts of winds of course). If you want to move forward, backwards, left or right, then use the right joystick. It moves just like a game console (more or less) so the control is pretty easy to use in my book. If you want to change the altitude , then gently tug the throttle either up or down (depending on if you want to go higher or lower), the response is pretty quick and very stable. The flight time to me seemed like somewhere in the vicinity of 8-10 minutes (I could be wrong as my son and I were having so much fun with it) so that is also a plus. I'm usually accustomed to having to stop and charge the drone/helicopter when you now get the hang of flying/controlling it. So far there have been crashes but the design has stood up to the various impact crashes thus far. A word to the wise though, this helicopter pushes a lot of air so try not fly it in a dusty area (or if you are indoors in an area where there are small picture frames, light items like that, etc. ). I have one peeve though. I still don't know how to attach the legs to the landing pad. It would have been pretty helpful had it come with instructions. Other than that, if you ask me, a perfect helicopter/drone for beginners who would just like to fly it right out of the box. Thanks Syma!

Pros
  • The helicopter's durable build provides long-lasting usage
Cons
  • Easily damaged by pets or other animals
