We bought a different type of coffee and returned it to our store because the rubber seal under the screw cap was deformed and didn't close properly. It looked more like a design issue than a quality control issue, so we figured another similar model would likely fail in the same way. So we went in search of a better Revain. Zojirushi is simplicity itself. The lid has a retractable handle that you squeeze to slide the coffee into the cup. It is very easy to modulate the strength and regulate the coffee flow. The lid closes without turning, so the seal cannot be deformed. We brew coffee using the 10-cup measure in our carafe, and the Zojirusho easily accommodates that amount. It holds the coffee temperature longer than our old metal coffee pot and we find it stays quite warm later in the day and hardly needs touching up in the microwave. It also has a built-in rotating base - a nice touch - that allows the entire device to rotate in any direction needed for coffee dispensing without changing the position of the entire device. Overall, the design looks well thought out. We noticed that the local cafe uses the same model for breakfast and lunch. If it's good enough for them to use for their customers, it's good enough for us.
