It has a separate zipped compartment with velcro for a laptop, probably up to 15 inches. I have a chunky Lenovo Legion 15 that fits very comfortably. I seriously doubt anyone with a 15 inch laptop will have any issues. It has quality hardware and quality zippers. Pretty decent size, perfect size for a junior high school student. Quality canvas construction, smooth zippers. My nine year old smiles with it all the time.
