This does exactly what it claims to do. It fits comfortably on my 17.3 inch RoG Strix Hero III laptop and has enough space for my school stuff, limited only by the weight I can carry. The only drawback I find is that the front pockets are quite small. While it fits in my monstrous laptop, it's impossible to find a charging case and I ended up putting it in my bag rather than a "briefcase" handle, but I have to be careful it doesn't rain barely enough for controllers and too small for a full-fledged headset. You can save smaller cords for something like a Surface. The zippers on the front can hold a small charging cable or a couple of business cards.
