You should beware of copies and fakes of reliable products. I've worn this version of the shoe since about 1969. The pair I just received goes with all the previous pairs I've bought. Those have always been my main shows — the non-special occasions — and I've walked more miles in these shoes than most people. I have never (prematurely) worn a hole in the sole of them. I've never had an issue with the top seams, although I'd expect it if it rubs a lot on a table or office chair. These are not "ordinary shoes". They have a life of their own that they will share with you for years if you treat them right. When you receive them, polish them with a good polishing paste. But wear different shoes when you go fishing. :) Review 05/28/2019: After wearing these shoes for over 6 months, they actually look and feel better than when they were new. I can't believe some reviews. You must be working for a competitor of something. These are very good shoes. Florsheim is the best in my opinion, which is why I've been wearing it for decades.
