Review on Quadcopter DJI Mini 2 Fly More Combo, gray by Wiktor Prusek ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent quality, absolutely not expected for such a price.

In short, this is the best amateur drone for beginner-intermediate level. Do not hesitate, take it, you will not regret it! I didn’t fly this drone much — the 2022 field season (two trips, about 20 launches, 12-15 hours of flight), but enough to make acommplete impression of the device. Before that, I flew Mavic Air 1 and Phantom 4 for acomuple of years. There is a video on my channel (so far one, I'm editing the rest) with shooting on this particular device - The ergonomics of the drone itself and the remotecomntrol are excellent, it is easy to fold, it does not play, the remotecomntrol is large, fits well in the hands, it iscomnvenient tocomntrol the sticks (the gimbal tilt ring may be a little small), it iscomnvenient to switch modes (Cinematic, Normal, Sport). The drone app is a little truncatedcommpared to its older brothers, but all the basic functions, including shooting settings and smoothnesscomntrol, are present. The flight qualities are good, because of the weight, the stability is still not the same as that of older models, but still at a very decent level. The drone tenaciously holds GPS (better outside the city) and almost does not hang in the air while hovering. As I said, this is the best device for expeditions and trips that do not have normal sources of electricity - it is light, commpact and can be charged from a regular 5v power bank. About the quality of the video and photo - it is good, a solid "4+", especially if you shoot simple videos "for yourself". However, to be honest, the quality of the sensor is inferior to Mavic Air 2s and even just Air 2. Even without 60FPS, the sensor is noisier (especially in low lightcomnditions). Due to 30FPS, with fast movements, jerks may begin to appear in the final video. I would say that the camera is identical in quality to the Mavic Air 1 and shooting modes, but these are still drones of different generations. Just out of a desire for better video quality, I ended up selling with the goal of upgrading to the Air 2s or 3 when itcommes out.

Pros
  • - amazing compactness and weight; - quietly charged from conventional powerbanks without step-up converters; - from the first two points it follows that this is the best drone for hiking, where there is no access to normal electricity; - quite quiet, with a slight wind already from a height of 50m the drone is almost invisible and inaudible from the ground; - for its dimensions, very decent shooting quality (more on that below); - for its size and weight, it holds the wind quite well and is relatively stable in flight; - good flight range, in open areas - stable communication up to 1-1.3 km; in the city, I think, 2 times less; - very good autonomy - about 25 minutes in normal wind and temperature; - there is no need to officially register with the Federal Air Transport Agency (<249g).
Cons
  • - no 4K@60FPS (only 30FPS); - no D-cinelike and HDRI modes; - there are no most useful Track Assistants (such as following an object, flying around a POI and others). - there is no known way to break the FCC-lock (there was on the Mavic Air 1), this greatly reduces the flight range.
