Review on Awefeel Double-Layer Satin Sleep Cap: A Hair Savior for Long Hair, Braids, Dreadlocks, and Curly Hair by Cynthia Taylor

Received and sent back the same day!

I loved this item and was looking forward to wearing it on the first night but had to return it almost immediately. So many things are wrong. First, as many have pointed out, this is not an atlas as advertised! We certainly don't fall for the "magic atlas" ads - an atlas is an atlas - but at least it can be promotional material. Second, it is NOT 27 inches as advertised! When fully extended, the distance from the headgear to the very end is 25 1/4 inches at best. There's a chance some actually measure 27 inches, but obviously not all (if any). /// Edit added: MEASURE YOUR HAIR from the start of the headband to the ends of your hair. So if your hat is normally just above your eyebrows, measure from that point. This can easily add 3 inches that you need to account for. WARNING - THOSE WITH LONG CLOSURES: This item is thrown up meaning some report this hat holds their hair well but not so much for others. I am one of the others. My curls are long and some are thick (almost all are thicker than sister's curls). So the length and weight of this hood do not match. Bonnet that has no chance of such a gentle rest. It didn't let my hair fall naturally at all, and the buns held my hat up on my back like I was carrying a backpack. This cap is best for thinner and lighter hair or at least shorter. Third, the headband would do more harm than good if I stuck to it. Again, it's not satin and since it doesn't hold my long tresses, I felt like it stretched. my edges/hairline right after the first try on I knew immediately I would never bother with them Fourthly I did not receive the hair ties as advertised and like some others. The packaging doesn't mention this, and it doesn't even list the cap size on the packaging. This is a normal "Beauty Shop" product, not made in the USA, with the wrong English label. Fifth, this hood was oddly noisy. That's right - loud. As soon as I put it on, I heard a plastic noise as I turned my head from side to side. I did not expect this. I can only imagine how annoying it can be late at night when I'm tossing and turning to go back to sleep. No thank you. I could just cut off the bottom of the hood and use it like this, but why? I paid $17 for more than just destroying an item I just received. Also, my ends will still be bare. I will apply my credit to the item that works best for me. I will not waste money or time.
